This Standard course falls under the guidelines of the Health & Safety executive First Aid at Work act 1981 and is a must for providing first aid in the workplace. This course is governed by the HSE and acts as a stepping stone to progress onto advanced topics. This course covers first aid and the law, COSHH, RIDDOR, initial assessment, CPR, recovery position, asthma, choking, head injuries, heart attacks, diabetes, shock, fractures, foreign objects, casualty handling, casualty hand over, there are several theory modules followed by practical sessions. Concluding the training sessions comes a theory paper and a 1 hour practical assessment covering all topics discussed during training.

Southern Rock Adventures provides specialist Abseil training to employees who use and operate Man Up / Order Pickers / VNA Trucks within their employment. Our staff are fully qualified to train and assess candidates in the appropriate skills and techniques required to conduct abseiling from a VNA truck, under self rescue situations. All candidates will receive appropriate instruction and assessment and certification necessary to take the qualification to any site or location where VNA trucks are used and operated. This is a Nationally Recognised Award and requires 1 day of instruction.

Southern Rock provides provides a full consultation service on the most appropriate equipment that you require in situations that your employees need to have fall arrest equipment to carry out their day to day job. All consultations are carried out under H&S regulations and also LOLER guidance. SRA staff are professionals in this field and experience in advising in the most appropriate equipment and advice.

On completion of this course you can start to gain practical experience working closely alongside REC trainers and provide courses of your own under the supervision of a senior trainer. Independent trainer status with REC is approved on an individual basis. The course looks at how to set up and run first aid courses and goes on to focus on specific teaching skills culminating in video analysis of your own presentation.

Southern Rock Adventures offers a full and detailed inspection of any safety equipment where fall arrest or personal protection Equipment is used in your work place, focusing mainly on equipment such as; harnesses, ropes, slings, karabeiners, helmets, we carry out a full inspection and record each item and batch number, give you a full report if equipment is needed to be replaced or updated. We will also show you how to keep records upto date, trace records and maintain these records. Working under the Work At Height regulations 2005 and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 as directed by the Health & Safety Executive all equipment must be inspected annually and be certified for use by your employees. We inspect and authorise all safety fall arrest equipment within the working environment. Corporations will be issued with a full report and certificate conforming to LOLER requirements.

If you work in an environment where you use ropes and cables, ladders as your daily working operations you may become trapped or injured or unconscious and at some point may need to be rescued. Some rescue situation have the requirements to be accessed by ropes. SRA provides all of the necessary skills and training requirements to instruct candidates in rope rescue techniques whether its rescuing a simple abseiler from a VNA truck or injured in a complicated piece of machinery where access limited. With also reducing the need for a demolition team to destroy part or all of your machinery. candidates will be trained to operate in confined spaces and rescue the casualty and lower to the ground safely.

We offer a range of Site Specific qualifications and awards. Companies wish to have their employees trained in specific techniques, some of which may not be transferable or used at another site.
